The reason you yell at your kids

Hi there Reader,

After my second baby was born, I yelled. A lot. Mostly at my two-year-old, who was still a baby himself and deserved none of it.

I thought something was wrong with me. That I was an angry mom and that was that. It's a big reason I started writing Raising Slow.

It took me way too long to realize the way I was responding to anger was happening in my body first. My nervous system was setting off alarms over spills, missing shoes, meltdowns... everything. As if a toddler dropping an ice cream cone is a real threat.

Promising myself I’d be more patient tomorrow didn’t ease it, and neither did replaying my rage-fueled reactions late at night. What helped was understanding what my body was doing when it happened.

That’s what we’ll cover on Wednesday, November 18, at 10 am PT, in a free live class: The Reason You Yell at Your Kids.

No promises of "I'll be more patient tomorrow" or late-night replays of my rage-fueled reactions could ease it.

That's what I want to share with you on Wednesday, November 18, at 10 am PT, in a free live class: The Reason You Yell at Your Kids.

We'll cover:

↠ Why our bodies react to a missing sock the same way they'd react to a lion

↠ The 10 seconds before we snap, and the body cues that come first

↠ How to come back: we'll do a breathing reset together, live, and talk about what to say after we yell

It's free, it's about an hour, and there's a replay if you get interrupted (I may even get interrupted!).

Save your spot here.

Yours in letting go of the guilt,

P.S. If you've ever been wide awake at 3 am replaying how you talked to your kids that day, this class is for you.
